The Ontario Production Services Tax Credit (OPSTC) offers a 21.5% refundable credit on eligible Ontario-based costs, including VFX and post-production.
It's available to Canadian or foreign-owned companies with a permanent Ontario presence, and applies to VFX work performed in-province, for which WeFX’s work qualified.
The credit can be stacked with the 16% federal VFX/production services credit.
Key Highlights:21.5% direct savings on Ontario-based production costs, including VFX and post.
Applies to work performed in Ontario, including by both resident and non-resident individuals if contracted through an Ontario company.
Can be stacked with the Federal PSTC for increased savings on eligible labor.
Applies to all VFX-related costs if done in Ontario.

The Federal Film or Video Production Services Tax Credit (PSTC) offers a 16% refundable credit on qualified Canadian labor, including VFX and post-production work done in Canada. It’s available to Canadian or foreign-owned corporations with a permanent Canadian establishment and accredited productions. The PSTC can be combined with provincial credits like Ontario’s OPSTC for additional savings.
16% direct savings on qualified Canadian labor expenditures.
Applies to Canadian resident labor for VFX and post-production work performed in Canada.
Can be stacked with provincial credits, including the Ontario OPSTC, for greater total returns.
