Alex, more commonly referred to as “Basso”, began his journey in digital art during high school, experimenting with VFX in film projects and stop motion, which sparked a lifelong passion for visual storytelling. Building on this foundation, he pursued a BFA in New Media, focusing on emerging technologies like 3D printing and code-based art. Self-taught in VFX, Basso quickly built a reputation for his creative problem-solving and keen eye.

Over the past eight years, he has earned recognition as an award-winning VFX Compositor, celebrated for his dedication to the craft and attention to detail. Basso has contributed to acclaimed projects such as Stranger Things (Netflix), Guillermo Del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities (Netflix), From (MGM), and What We Do in the Shadows (FX).

Now a Compositing Supervisor, Basso is known for his passion for continuous learning, always staying on the cutting edge of technology and technique to create visually stunning, realistic effects.
